Somerton Town Football Club

Somerton Town FC is a Charter Standard Club which has two Adult teams as well as a Youth set up, Known as Somerton Town Youth, The Adult teams consist of two teams, A First team and Reserves, The First team play in the Somerset County League Division 1 and the Reserves in the Somerset County league Division 3

We are always on the look out for new players and supporters as well as Committee members.

Somerton Rugby Football Club

Somerton RFC continues to grow and contribute to the wider Somerton community through its support of local events and positive engagement with local groups.

The club is developing with great expectations for the future. Playing at Somerton Recreation Ground, the first XV play in the ‘Tribute’ Somerset Two South league with training on Tuesday and Thursday evenings throughout the season. The player base has significantly grown enabling a second team to be introduced ‘Somerton Saxons’ who will be playing friendly games to ensure all senior players enjoy regular playing opportunities.

A youth section consisting of ‘Somerton Saxons Juniors’ enables boys and girls in two age categories, 4-10 and 11-12, to experience all rugby union has to offer. These sessions take place on Sunday mornings.

Somerton Tennis Club

As part of the SRGT since 1972, Somerton tennis club offers people of all ages from the town and the surrounding area the opportunity to play tennis every day of the week, in the winter or summer. We have two floodlit all weather courts, juniors and adult coaching. You can play for fun in the regular club sessions and events, in league matches, or simply book a court with family or friends. Our courts are also available for public hire on a pay and play basis.

Somerton and District Bowls

Somerton and District Bowls Club is situated on the Recreation Ground, Gassons Lane. The season starts in April and runs through to mid September, with a four day tour towards the end of the season. The club has teams in ladies, men’s and mixed leagues and knockout trophies.Numerous friendly matches are also played throughout the season.

A number of social activities are organised throughout the year. We consider our club to be very friendly and inclusive and welcome new members, male and female, beginners and experienced bowlers.

Multi Use Games Area (MUGA)

Somerton Sports Club

The Club is a not for profit members club, although the public are more than welcome to use the facilities with a member. It has been run by a group of volunteers since the early 80`s with membership from associated clubs that use the recreation fields, being Somerton Football Club, Somerton Rugby Club, Somerton Tennis & Bowls clubs. The in house facilities include darts, skittles along with monthly quizzes and regular music events, where members benefit from reduced admission to these events. The club is also used by local organisations (U3A &Friendship group and others) at very reduced rates. Somerton Snooker Club is also housed within the facility, although separate membership is required, with 4 tables available all day.
The Sports Club, although sports orientated, does have many social members, and we are always looking for new members to join us for our very reasonable fee of £7 pa. Come and try our monthly friendly quiz, the last Thursday each month.
